Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

I read your note a couple of times.  What audio/microphone driver is now active?

I didn't do all what you said, I simply forced the 2004 install.  All the audio/microphone stuff works as far as I can tell (they're still Conexant).  I checked out my stuff on Zoom, and it's happy.  As I reported earlier, the only problem I had was when resizing the iTunes window.  All other windows resize fine.  I'm not too concerned about that.  I already posted an item on the Apple-iTunes-Windows community forum.

Update: I don't regularly use iTunes.  Perhaps this problem existed before the 2004 update but after the last iTunes update.  I really can't say for sure, but I think it's the 2004 update.  I checked all my graphics drivers and they are at the latest version.

I didnt force install windows 10 2004. All i did is that i replaced Conexant driver with Microsoft provided generic driver.

After doing that i had to wait 2 days to get offered with the Update by windows update. Then I updated to 2004. Now I'm using 2004 without the conexant drivers. I don't have any issue so far. And I find Microsoft audio driver far too feature rich than that god-forbidden hideous conexant driver.

My Toshiba Satellite has a dual use 3.5mm socket. It can be used as a line input or a headphone output. I assume the Conexant driver controls this function. Has anyone noticed if this functionality  still works after forcing the update?

I'm using an Asus Vivobook S510UAR that is like 3 years old now. I didn't force the win 10 v 2004 update. What I did was:

1. Uninstalled Conexant audio driver from the "Device Manager" by Rollback option (under the property option within the said driver, there's a tab that says "Drivers" and down below is an option "Rollback driver". Choosing this option will ask you why you do you want to roll back? There's an option that says, "My device doesn't work with this driver.", choose this and click ok. Windows will restore Microsoft Generic audio driver.
2. Opened CMD with admin level and ran the command "pnputil.exe /e > C:\drivers.txt". This will generate all the drivers on your system and will save it on C:\drivers.txt file.
3. Opened the drivers.txt file and searched for Conexant. The driver was named as something like "oemNN.inf", where NN is a numeric value like 12, 13, or 45. Mine was oem52.inf.
4. Ran another command "pnputil.exe /d oemNN.inf" (here NN is the number that is associated with your Conexant driver found on the drivers.txt file). This removed/uninstalled the Conexant drivers and its files from the windows installation.
5. Then I searched for any files named "uci64a" (the file names will be something like e.g. uci64a96.dll through uci64a231.dll) within "C:\Windows" folder and deleted all the files. This will remove all traces of Conexant drivers.

6. The search will include a folder called "Rollback" within Windows > System32 folder. Remove the directory.
7. Then from the start menu searched for "Services" and opened. There's a couple of services that correspond to the Conexant drivers that I need to Stop and Disable ( from Startup type dropdown) permanently. One such service is named "CxUIUSvc".

I also Stopped and Disabled a service called "iceSoundSomethng"(can't remember it now. it is associated with Conexant driver).

(From the Description column look for any services associated with Conexant driver and Stop and Disable them from their properties. You can search for those files within the Windows directory. "You will find the file path from their Properties panel under "Path to executable" from within the Services.)

8. Restarted my PC.
9. After 2 days Microsoft offered me the Update. 
10. Installed the update.
11. Although after upgrading to 2004 Microsoft forcefully updated the audio driver again to Conexant drivers from the Microsoft update.
12. Then repeat steps 1 to 8 again. 
13. So far everything is working well.
14. No headphone connection issue. Everything working just fine.

Nothing worked, and I was signed in with my MS account.  I then signed up to the WIndows Insider Program, and everything worked.  I was able to upvote your thing.
