So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

I did one workaround to upgrade to 2004 ( install the Lenovo Conexant not affected ) and I still on it until now. This morning MS offered me the 20H2 . But when I check the issue in MS official page, it is still listed as unresolved. Like many people here I am reluctant to do an upgrade.
My Toshiba Satellite with Conexant smartaudio HD also finally had 2004 offered at the weekend but there is no sign of a change in the driver. Still on 8.66.43.53 from 15/03/2017, a manual update says I am already on the best driver.
The win 10 2004 issues page still shows conexant issues as under investigation so I'm reluctant to do the upgrade without more evidence it will go well.
open device manager (winlogo + X) then click on the conexant then uninstall and reboot your computer. or do it in control panel , leave a feedback
Yep, me too. I have a 5+ year old HP Envy laptop. I manually upgraded to 2004, and then the 20H2 update presented itself. I am running fine with version 10.0.19041.1 dated 12/6/2019.
I did have one oddity though. At some point after the 2004 update, but before the 20H2 (I think), I checked the 'Devices and Printers' option in the Control Panel. My laptop showed an exclamation point, and it wanted to run the Troubleshooter. The troubleshooter complained about the audio drivers. I'm not sure what it did, but eventually the exclamation point went away. I don't think it did a driver update.
In any case, all is well for me. The microphone and earphones I plug in to run Zoom work fine, both with the conexant driver.
There is there is quite a bit of evidence in this thread. A number of us including me have manually upgraded to 2004 and/or 20H2 and our computers are running fine with a variety of the old Conexant drivers.
