Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

    GL552vw here too. Did you installed it? I mean, the reboot after the WU's notification

    Finally, Got it on my Asus GL552VW. Did nothing, just kept checking for updates.

    Windows Update finally offered an update from Version 1909 Build 18363.1500 for my 

    Lenovo Yoga Laptop (ThinkPad) Model 20CD, i7/8GB/256GB SSD. After two attempts that 

    failed after 20 hours with the message "There were problems installing some updates but 

    we'll try again later. Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2 - Error 0xc1900104", I 

    cut my losses and used the WMCT to do a clean install.  

    Since the update was finally offered I assumed that the warning "don't use the WMCT to 

    update Windows when you have a Conexant driver" no longer applied.

    The installation and update to the most recent version took under an hour. When I heard "Hi I am Cortana" I knew that sound was working in the latest version of Windows.

     After the WMCT initial install, Cumulative update for W10 Version 20H2 KB5001330 took

    a bit longer but the update went fine. Windows Update provided Conexant audio driver 

    8.66.16.50 but Lenovo driver support shows an older version of this driver (8.65.56.52) which should 

    probably not be used. The only anomaly was that after the latest update, process 

    "windows audio device graph" at one point took 90% of the CPU. I stopped this process 

    and it has not been a problem since. Bottom line: systems affected by the update block 

    related to Conexant audio drivers may not always update successfully, but a clean install is

     likely to succeed.

    Lenovo T510 with Conexant Audio on Win10.1909.
    Microsoft is back in the game again.

    Got the 20H2 Update today - zero probs!
