Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

    Followed your steps and those on the links you provided.  Microsoft offered the update within a day.  The install ran without issue and I am now running Windows 2004 on a Lenovo ideaPad 310 Touch-151kb on Windows 10 Home.   Post update, I disabled the driver update restriction, the Conexant driver was installed without issue - audio working with no noticeable issues.

    I am not sure if links can be posted, but trying,

    Follow this link. And be prepared with all the steps beforehand.

    Because you will have to

    1. disable internet
    2. uninstall the conexant driver
    3. restart PC
    4. get the device hardware Id
    5. perform group policy/registry edit.

    With the above steps, windows update wont be able to install the conexant drivers even if it tries.

    Additional steps -

    I did not want those driver files downloaded on my system at all.

    So as soon as you enable internet, run the Microsoft tool "wushowhide.diagcab" from below link and disable the Conexant update.

    well i am a SEO consultant so i am pretty much always online and need the PC to be in tip top shape but having said that, i don't really install major updates unless i am 100% sure they run properly as i am not bothered fixing and tweaking stuff, which i have done over the years and takes ages sometimes...

    so i am pondering on this one, maybe yes maybe not

    Itried the above method, but Windows Update did no change. Anyway I am in no hurry as my laptop is working ok.

    I just cannot believe such companies are so lazy to fix this.
