Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

    I received two updates on Monday for 1909: KB5000808 & KB4589211. I hoped maybe they might fix the Conexant hold, but alas, still no joy.

    I think these are for Adobe flash removal and other patches. Another post says that they have just now updated Conexant driver to Conexant - MEDIA - 8.66.95.70, through WU. Please try that.

    I received a "Conexant - MEDIA - 8.66.95.70" driver update today via Windows Update. Maybe it will release the lock after the new state was detected by the compatibility assistant job.

    Good luck, May be MS has issued this for compatibility. I have 8.65.132.2 before my updating via shortcuts. . Definitely your driver update is newer. After updating the driver you may wait till the PC finds 20H2 on its own. You may give feed back on this.

    That's great if MS has done a patch and automatic update for 20H2 showed up. Put the blame on the pandemic for the delay. Hope everyone gets the update. But for those who don't want to wait fortunately work around is there.

    I have two HP Envy 17" laptops that have Conexant hardware and are stuck on Windows 1909:  "The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page."

    Windows 10 Pro, version 1909, reaches the end of servicing on May 11, 2021 - less than two months from now.  Unless a fix shows up in the next two months, how can I use the HP laptops, given any security vulnerabilities will go unpatched?  I'm not going to uninstall the Conexant drivers, force an update, and let the drivers reinstall, because I can't rely on the stability of the resulting setup.  I will just junk the PCs and remember not ever to buy HP again.

    Conexant audio drivers - Microsoft Community

    I finally managed to get back to the standard MS HD audio driver, which works fine for me. The only odd thing that does seem to happen is the audio gets muted random. But I guess I can live with that.

    I really don't understand why MS does not remove the Conexant driver from their auto update policy. 

    On a sidenote... when working on a Zbook 15 G3, the Conexant drivers caused no issue at all..

    You may put back the original drivers of conexant from your installation CD or the your model PC drivers from the website. It installs fine and you will get back the original sound quality.
