Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

    My Toshiba Satellite has a dual use 3.5mm socket. It can be used as a line input or a headphone output. I assume the Conexant driver controls this function. Has anyone noticed if this functionality  still works after forcing the update?

    Thanks very much for the reply.

    I tried again using GPUPDATE /FORCE and entering both hardware ids into GP but, once again, Windows has reinstalled the Conexant driver.

    Great Work kmaford. 

    Microsoft making us do all sorts of experiments.

    I think they should have adopted a similar approach themselves, but they didn't want to take the ownership.

    Anyways, I hope your reinstalled Conexant drivers on 2004 don't cause any issues.

    I have removed them on 2004 as well just to be safe, and just using the Microsoft provided generic drivers which are satisfactory for my usage.

    I will only enable Conexant drivers installation when Microsoft marks the issue solved on their tracker.

    In my case, on a Lenovo ideaPad 310 running Windows 10 Home, audio was not working post update.  I used the .reg file found under 

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/146562-prevent-windows-update-updating-specific-device-driver.html found at the bottom of the page under "B. Disable the group policy" to disable to registry edits.  I then had to install the driver from Device Manager.  The install found the Conexant driver which appears to be working.  I suspect I will need to redo the process for the October release.
