Site passwords are lost after each reboot since a recent windows 10 update.

I removed Chrome, IE, Edge and Firefox and reinstalled all. So far, it forgets my passwords for Google, Outlook, Quicken.com, Microsoft.com, and any site that requests the user id and password in two separate steps. I've been working on this for a week and cannot get it resolved. I've tried all of the steps in all of the preceding posts with the exception of rolling back the Windows update.

Firefox was not affected by the update as it is not Chromium based. To get your saved passwords back in Firefox you need to sign into your Firefox account and turn on sync. Once your passwords and sign ins  are repopulated you can sign out of your Firefox account and they will stay unlike Chrome and Edge Chromium where you have to stay signed in to your Google account for Chrome and your Microsoft account for Edge chromium to keep them. Once you sign out of those two they will no longer be visible after a restart or wake from sleep. If you are within the 10 day grace period after installing version 2004 you can try rolling back to your previous version. Why Microsoft and Google now made it where you have to sign in to your accounts and turn on sync in order to use your saved sign ins and passwords is beyond me unless they want to track you on the web and see what sites you are accessing and gathering data about you. Like I said I completely uninstalled Chrome and moved Edge off my taskbar as I will not use it anymore unless I absolutely have to. Firefox is my default and I installed Ice Dragon 64 bit which is based on Firefox platform to use as my backup. I hope you have luck as a lot of us are upset over this change.

I uninstalled Chrome, rebooted my machine and then reinstalled Chrome. I logged into a few sites and then rebooted only to see my passwords were wiped out again.

Try logging in to your Google account and make sure sync is turned on and see if they come back. That worked with me but I completely uninstalled Chrome as I do not trust Google especially since you have to sign in to see saved passwords and saved sites.

Just to clarify, I have never used sync across any of my devices. While it's convenient, it raises concerns for me on many fronts. I do not consider enabling sync all of the time as a fix

DonT5, I took your suggestion of enabling sync and I saw a lot of my saved sites/passwords reappear. What was interesting was a select few that never came back. These were a few sites that I use multiple times a day every day. One of those is Facebook. 

So after I synced, I logged back into Facebook and verified that it was saved as expected. Later in the day when I opened chrome and went to Facebook, I had to log in again. So my statement about losing my passwords after rebooting needs to be updated to include random times after closing Chrome. And I triple-checked that I do not have 'Clear cookies and site data when you quit Chrome' turned on.

I'm really not worried about having to log back into all of the sites I had saved, I'm more concerned that they will still be there after closing Chrome or rebooting my machine.
