Site passwords are lost after each reboot since a recent windows 10 update.

Having done this, everything seems nominal... for now, anyway. Certainly worth a try.

By never checking for passwords, as suggested in Google article, you are just hiding the problem. Might be a workaround but not a fix.

If a problem has gone away, it feels like a fix to me. :)

Less flippantly, I sort of agree, but I'm not going to get my brain dirty debugging Windows, so will wait till MS descends from Mount Sinai with the correct fix before doing anything else. If someone doesn't want to faff about reinstalling the OS (like I have on my main machine) to fix this, or creating a new profile (which I did on my main machine after 2004, but which didn't provide an absolute fix as it recurred after 20H2), then this workaround will save the hairbrush industry from bankruptcy.

Agree. Can't believe MS hasn't put a team on this.  

When they ask me would I recommend Windows to a friend I always give a very low mark. This error, the fact you can't do a repair install on 20H2 are perfect examples of MS being on Mount Sinai.

Exactly the same with myself.  Having to go through all that two-factor authentication is a bit of a bind. I have to say at times I get days on end where everything works as normal - like today and yesterday - no problem.  Pretty sure that will not last though.
