I am really amazed at this fiasco
I know,,,,,(those of you who have always blamed all of your PC problems on MS and if your old, Bill Gates) but damn!!!!
THIS IS BAD!
Someone needs to get fired and get a job as a Walmart door greeter where they can't cause any harm on things that peoples lives depend on!!!
My rollback away from 2004 (because of the unfinished audio problems) deleted a file in the system32 folder of windows called vcruntime140_1.dll.
It was part of the 2015 C++ distributable running on my Win 10 rig.
I never knew of this .dll till 3/4 of my programs wouldn't open.
I guess a lot of programs access this windows vcruntime140_1.dll / tool / program
There's also another one called vcruntime140.dll without the _1 (which wasn't deleted)
So I had the audio problem as well. Dead as a door nail! 2004 Just Wouldn't let me install Any AMD HDMI audio drivers at all! Quite RUDE! as C-3PO would have probably stated.
I had to roll back, no choice at all. 2004 was just bad!
The rollback gave me my sound back but really Screwed up my PC to no surprise. But my life depends on it! I hate Apple's politics but for the 1st time in 30 years, I considered it.
I actually let what must have been a junior MS technician gain access to my PC who ran scannow and disabled almost all my startup programs which got rid of all the missing vcruntime140_1.dll's messages I got everytime I started the PC up.
It was really a worthless fix. Kind of a Hillbilly duct tape fix, in a nerdy environment. (I can say that because I'm a hillbilly in a nerdy environment. In case I just offended anyone)
All he had to do was replace the missing vcruntime140_1.dll with one from his MS database.
Instead I had to put my faith in some Swedish based .dll file sharing website which made me Terribly Nervous, but Lo' and Behold! They came through!
Just go to www.dll-files.com and download the missing .dll file the roll back admonished from your system and open up your Windows folder, navigate to the windows32 folder (I don't know why its the system32 folder because I'm running a 64-bit system but it
worked!) and drag and drop it on in
I used to Love windows 10! I went through the 95 and 98 constant repair days. Then came Vista which required a monster computer to run properly (which I had, sorry to be a snob) Then XP (We finally had hope!) Windows 7 (Hey This in nice!) Windows 8 (****!!!!!!!!!!!)
Then Windows 10, Thank You God!!!!!! (Then the evil gremlins finally arrived)
Geez Guys,,,,,,,,,, do you want everyone to migrate to Apple?
