Audio Not Working After Windows 10 Version 2004 Update

I got lucky with dell 5558 with default driver installing. For search not working, I ran some dos script after googling. of course now may update has come and things appear fine. I guess different hardware and drivers creates this issue. Last 2 years or more I am using Mac - and I have never faced such an issue - I dont have to google for each and every issue. Basically no issue :)-.. Here if we google we will mostly find something. The India support engineer tried for 20 minutes and put me on wait mode for an hour and finally I had to disconnect. good luck

Go back to Mac While you still can - This is a dumpster fire you have gotten your self into with microsoft

I have Win 10 Pro.  That is the one that was upgraded and caused the audio loss.   Windows support says it is too late to reset.  It is version 2004 or nothing.  I might suggest you call Microsoft Support at 206-429-6176.  After you get out of voicemail jail and get to a warm body, file a complaint and you will be issued a case number.  That will give you an opening to keep after them to get a solution.  On the initial call, a technician will update all drivers, etc, but will be unable to fix the problem.  The case number will give you access to keep some pressure to get a patch.  The creators of this mess are the only ones who can fix it.  There is no way now to return to the previous version.  They are getting daily emails from me and several others that I know of.   I don't know what else to do.  I wish you luck.  let me know if you make any progress. I had tried all methods suggested in Youtube videos on possible patch. But the methods are useless & fake too.

No choice, I am looking at a reset & considering to switch to Win10 Pro version instead while upgrading my PC to SSD at the same time.

The Microsoft Team is very irresponsible.

I don't know where to turn.  I wrote a scathing Email to them yesterday.  They are sitting right there where the creators of this mess are located.  

I had an installation media thumb drive with the previous version.   All the way through it was reporting it was installing the previous version, but somewhere in the process it updated to version 2004.  So now that is useless.    I plan to annoy them as much as possible.  I suggest that you call 

Microsoft support at  206-429-9176 with a complaint.  After you get out of the voicemail jail and speak to a warm body, they should assign you a case number.   That will give you access for further pressure to come up with a patch.   Good luck and please let me know if you have any success.
