Hello

My audio is still not working after the recent Winows 10 Version 2004 update.

It causes the system to auto lockdown after initial booting and the audio functions are now totally lost.

Please let me know what is current status to fix these bugging issues.

Appreciate your urgent attention and reply.

It's deleted ALL my old files and when I tried to do a system restore- that too is gone

    I did a reset - that didn't work

I did however find a possible solution - apparently you go to realtek & get the driver for your PC ( my uncles ID CASNEWYDD, he has an ACER) and download it

THEN you delete the drivers in AUDIO  and SOUND and ask it to "let me pick" the new driver

This should be the correct driver

But it's picking the correct drivers CODE

That's what I'm having trouble finding

APPARENTLY this fixes the problem as it's not JUST the sound it's also the AUDIO in the Device Manager

    I've concentrated on SOUND only

    We have to do BOTH

SOUND & AUDIO & replace (uninstall) the drivers and download the correct drivers for your own device and your own system

you must also STOP microsoft from updating your drivers  by going to CONTROL PANEL /  ALL CONTROL PANEL ITEMS / SYSTEM   then

    ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS  then

    Hardware

    Click - Device Installation Settings

    then tick NO

This is the ONLY way to STOP this continually happening again

Get your CODE for your Sound system for YOUR PC / Laptop (as they all vary) from your sound site (like Realtex) and download THAT code

Then go to device manager- uninstall the driver in AUDIO and also in SOUND

    Install the driver/s your downloaded

I'm trying to find the correct code for my uncles PC & try this but I've read MULTIPLE replies to a problem - (which has since turned off the comments) that they ALL were fixed this way

    so---- fingers crossed :-)

I'll let you know either under my ID name or my uncles ID which is CASNEWYDD

You guys see this garbage ^ the only way to really fix the problem is to sell or torch your current PC and go to Mac or a Linux Distro. People should not have to go through this much trouble just to get their sound working. Microsoft needs to die, so lets begin the final goodbyes to this dumpster fire.

I'm using creative play 3 usb sound card.

After this windows update, my sound volume keeps changing by itself.

Specifically the system sounds, which I usually set to a low 10%. Now the system sound volume kept changing the same volume as the normal sound volume(which I set to 70%), and it's annoying. I would adjust it back to 10% and it will switched back to 70% all the time.

    Edit:

Tried using the motherboard realtek sound, and same issue encountered.

Hi I had problems with internal speaker not working on dell 9010. I just grabbed iso of win 10 ver 1909 and used Rufus app to make usb install and all is fixed. Win 10 2004 is no good and caused me a headache. Hope this helps everyone else with same issues.. cant believe it as I thought its gd to grab Latest version but I now know better. All the best. Hope they fix this with next release. Never had these issues before with Windows updates.

The problem is that Microsoft is now forcing Win 10 2004 on us. How are you dealing with that?
