I have a new PC with W10. I decided to use the PIN code, but now I get the message "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again."

When I click 'Set up my PIN' nothing, the same message reappears.

I looked up the issue on the internet and found that I should login using another sign-in option. However, there is no way to get to another option. The text above is all I see on the screen.

Hello there! I'm sorry that didn't work. You can try this steps instead:

Turn off your PC

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button on the casing of your PC for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt . . . etc.

Please try each option one at a time, then see of Windows will boot . . .

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Repair

See if Windows startup can repair itself

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - System Restore

Check to see if you have a restore point you can go back to

If you do not have a Restore Point, go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Settings and click Restart

Upon restart, press 4 to enter Safe Mode

Once in Safe Mode, backup your data if you do not already have a backup

Open Device Manager and check to make sure all your Drivers are up to date

Reboot to see if Windows will start Normally

If the above fails, go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC

Choose to keep your files and apps, just your files or to keep nothing

Then start the Reset

Hope this will do the trick

    I will check back in an hour or so in case you need any more info about this. I wish I knew this was so simple to do because I spent at least two days trying everything else. Good luck and I will check back in an hour or so

    You have to go to the Microsoft website and to the downloads section which is found under Support I believe you can do a search as well windows 10 installation media. Or whatever windows version using. Make sure USB is big enough 10 gigs or something. I’m using my iPhone speech to type.

    Yeah once you found it put your clean USPS in other words before you install the media delete everything else on there so only the installation media on it. Install your version double check it’s the proper version because there are several to choose from usually but maybe not if you do a search and will provide you with just one media, possibly anyways install the media onto the USB and once it is complete it will tell you it is finished only then can you take it out or eject I just took mine out. If you used a separate PC like I did take it to the PC you want to repair plug it in and then start your computer it will actually look like it’s going to reinstall because it’ll ask you to enter the language and stuff that you want just make sure it’s the proper language press next and then it should take you to the repair section you can choose to open command prompt or system restore like I chose and tadaaahhh

    Awww sorry to hear that. That is no good, that sucks.

    Yesterday I made a media installation /USB OS like installing OS for the first time. It WORKED!!!! It allowed me to access system restore. Wow it was so easy to do.

    I had to do this because I was completely locked out of my own computer. My regular pin that I use was not working nor would it allow me to put my normal password in. On top of that I must’ve forgotten my administrative password matter what I did I could not get in. But creating a media installation drive /sticks Plug it in and starting the computer allowed me get around the admin password.

    I know this sucks for you but if anything like that happens again you can just do what I did.
