Windows 10 Feature Update 2004 taking too long to install

You don't understand - Windows Update is lying to me. 

Windows Update is claiming I am up to date after 30 minutes.

It is updating the Windows Virus version - but not updating anything else.

Imagine if a doctor was taking your xrays, but telling you everything is fine based on the old xray!

Useing Windows Update is useless!!!

I need to manually do something and never believe Windows Update status again. It's totally bogus!

OK, calm down. Deep breaths, in through the nose, blow out through the mouth. Do about 5, 6 of them to get your blood pressure down!

Now, in your search box, type "winver", without quotations, hit enter to see what version of Windows you have. You maybe already doing that, but just to get a baseline on what we're working with.

Then, click on "Check for updates", and see what comes up. If it gives you the "feature update" prompt, then you should allow it to run.

But tell me this: Is your system a prebuilt system? HP, DELL, ACER, Lenova, or another "store-bought" system. I ask because, to date, I have only seen the update hang up on prebuilt, factory, systems. That would be helpful info trying to find a solution for you, I think.

I am calm, wear a Bluetooth oxygen, pulse ring for advanced medical testing. Condition my pulse to 55, oxygen level at 98% and perfect BP. Haven't had a sick day in 38 years next week. I am a retired tech for a state dept of health and lots of innovation with CDC to EPA. Pleased that you are concerned, but I am just fine. LOL

Back Ground:  I manually run the "check for updates" daily 

Windows update does NOT offer or display "Feature Updates" 

(My other computers did display this and they did update.)

I have run Update Troubleshooter many times - finds nothing

In the Windows Update - OS Build info

in Device Manager - last Friday - I manually went through ever Update Firmware

It found a three that related to the microprocessor related items, updated and required a reboot.

under Security and Maintenance: "no issues have been detected by Security and Maintenance. Virus & Threat protection Updates is Today's date.

SFC /scannow -  DISM - found no problems

I have deleted (renamed) the Windows Update directory before to allow it to rebuild the folders again.

Sometimes, we all need to monitor our vitals with Microsoft,  AND Windows.

"HP Envy Phoenix"..., I still believe that there is something with the prebuilts. One of my customers has an Envy AIO, and he couldn't update the normal way. He got the notification that he was due an update, Windows 2004 series. I started the update, then left. The next day, about 6 PM, he called me and said it was stuck on 84%. He said it was at 84% at 6 AM when he left for work. I told him to unplug the computer, and power it up again so that he could do his work, and I would come back and install the update. I went to microsoft.com and downloaded the Media Creation Tool, and created a flash drive to effect the install. I went back to his office and installed the update. It took two hours, but it finished. It's time to check it again, now that the October update is here. The website is still showing the May 2020 update, but that is the Windows 2004 version. Have you tried that? If not, give it a whirl. You can do it either of two ways: Either download the tool and select "Update this computer" in the prompts, or, create a flash drive by selecting "Create media to update another computer", or some iteration of that. Try whichever of those that you feel comfortable with, and let us know.
