Windows 10 Feature Update 2004 taking too long to install

Today I was notified by Windows Update that the 2004 update is finally ready to be downloaded and installed on my laptop. I pressed download and install and left the laptop plugged in idle as I did not have any laptop work to do at that time. Now it's been 4 hours since I left it on, and the Windows Update screen (in the Settings > Updates & Security) is still at 94% installing, which is the exact number I saw more than an hour ago. Is it stuck? Why is it taking so long to install? My internet is fast enough, I don't have many programs installed apart from a few essentials such as Office and Inkscape along with other credible software. I am afraid that if I close it and reset the Windows Update, it'll take 4+ hours again (not to mention the additional lengthy rebooting and installing the update again in the blue background screen which happens with every single update), plus it's already night here so I cannot leave it turned on while I go to sleep.

    The update never completes....sadly and aggravatingly. It either "stalls" for days on end and some lame % or I get a generic "failed" error...within minutes of aborting the process, hey, looky there, I have an update to apply. Wash, rinse and repeat...with or without a repair and reboot. Nothing changes. Well, the good news is an "expert" chimed in to state my device isn't compatible.

    Microsoft has totally screwed up their "software as a service" delivery scheme/model. They're doing the same with the Microsoft 365 offering (formerly known as Office, Office 365, etc.).

    Their (lack of) interest in correcting said missteps is far beyond comical. I guess to reach out is to acknowledge, "We are pushing a crappy product to you".

    I know, right? Just another Microsoft drum-banger providing ZERO depth to a much bigger issue. Sb Pat could've saved his/her fingertips and responded with "because". LOL

    Even if Microsoft released "perfect" updates to those that are "compatible", one cannot easily ignore:

    P.S. If anyone feels they must reference the *Some settings are managed by your organization notice, yes, I am the one who manages the environment and yes, we have many devices that have successfully updated to 2004.

    80 minutes seems relatively quick. Mine took 4 hours. I suppose the condition and age of one's computer makes a difference.
