Brother MFC-240C won't print after Win 10 updates

I have installed 3 Win 10 updates in the last two days (KB4560960, KB4561600, KB4497165), and now my Brother MFC-240C printer will not print anything from my computer.  When I try to print something, the job appears in the print queue for a fraction of a second, then disappears.  The printer never starts printing.  I can scan successfully, so the connection (USB) is OK.  I have tried the usual troubleshooting:  removing and reinstalling the printer, removing and reinstalling the driver package - still no luck.  I can use the copy function on the printer, and it prints out the scanned copy just fine.  Win10 appears unable to send print jobs to my printer after this update, and I have no idea how to fix it.

You can try uninstalling the KB Update KB:4560960 and KB:4561608 as a workaround.

To uninstall the update using command prompt follow the steps below.

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type cmd in the search box
  3. Right click on it and run the application using administrator.
  4. A box will open.
  5. Type the following command after replacing the KB ID with the one that you wish to uninstall: wusa /uninstall /kb:[id]
  6. Example: wusa /uninstall /KB:4023057
  7. Once done typing hit enter.

Once done uninstalling the both KB update restart your pc and try to check if issue persist.

    Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, my attempt(s) to apply the download in your reply results in an error:

    "X Windows Update Standalone Installer

    The update is not applicable to your computer.."

    My system is Windows 10 Home 64 bit.

    Thanks for your solution, which worked last month (June 2020); but today after my PC updated with KB4565633, KB4559309 and KB4565483, the problem is back. My Brother MFC-440CN has stopped printing again.  It looks as if the job has been sent to the printer, but nothing happens. Is one of the listed KB's the culprit or do I have to remove them all ? I appreciate any info that you can provide.

    I don't know if you have tried the below:  I used the following and my 240C is still printing about 5 minutes ago.  I didn't uninstall anything....but installed from the below.  Be sure that you are using the correct install for you system.  And be sure not to use the server version.  Incidentally mine is 2004 Edge.

    If this doesn't help then I am not helpful.

    You can download it straight from the Microsoft Update Catalog website on the following link:

    Download and install the one for your Windows version.

    This worked for me!  I had to try this manually but this worked for me.
