Win 10 Build 2004 issue with Realtek audio

I upgraded my PC to build 2004. I found my realtek audio is not working at all. HDMI audio was working. But my speakers were not working. I reverted to my old build 1909 and audio started working. Is there any bug in build 2004? When will that get resolved?

    I have same issue: Realtek driver: 6.0.8955.1

    Windows home build 19041 10.0.19041

    hp pavillion i510300h

    No audio hardware issue (just ran hp test from bios) it's a compatibility problem with last windows update as stated from hp assistance. They can't fix this but proposed me to reinstall windows (****).

    It's incredible that in 2020 there are such issues. Neither in 1993...

    If anyone could help it would be great

    I have an HP Elitedesk 800 g1 which have been updated from 1903 to 2004 and since then, the microphone from my headset connected to the 3,5mm jack is not working properly, recording sound is very very low, almost inaudible. Sound through speakers are working fine. 

    I have tried the drivers supplied by Microsoft and from Realtek with the same result. Prior to that, when that desktop was at release 1903, everything was working fine.

    I also have an Asus Laptop, release 1903 and the same microphone/headset work just fine with it. This upgrade or maybe a patch that come with it has created this problem.  

    Sadly, i cannot rollback to 1903 since it's been more that 10 days.

    I also have an HP Spectre Folio 13 and have exactly the same issue that it only works if you shout at it.  Although interestingly I'm still on  Windows 1909 have not upgraded to 2004 so it appears to be some other update causing the issue Really need to fix this as I can't use it for Zoom - I have to use my iPad.  Would love to get this fixed

    Test #2, I place the MS driver back and upgraded to Win2004 built, sound STILL works.

    Test #3, upgraded the driver now to the 2004 built 6.0.8945 and it BROKE, so revert back to MS driver.

    I *think* I tried that, but in all the chaos of trying to get my microphone functional in “virtual school constant Google Meet” time, I may have skipped that specific combination. I just ended up going back to 1909 completely but I know that won’t work forever. 

    I will give 2004 a shot with the MS driver, which is the only thing I ultimately found would work instead of  using the oh-so-lovely Realtek one. 

    Hopefully I can muddle my way through getting the MS driver to stick with the 2004 build!
