Win 10 Build 2004 issue with Realtek audio

I upgraded my PC to build 2004. I found my realtek audio is not working at all. HDMI audio was working. But my speakers were not working. I reverted to my old build 1909 and audio started working. Is there any bug in build 2004? When will that get resolved?

If it is a desktop PC, then you may be able to reinstall the drivers from the CD that comes with the motherboard. Note that, on installation, Windows 10 will use a default "High Definition" device driver for your hardware. It will NOT load the Realtek software. Since it is a generic driver, many of the Realtek features will be lost. If you don't have a CD, you MAY be able to download a driver from one of the many sites, but beware of some sites, even those calling themselves realtekxxx are not actually Realtek sites. If someone has better information on where is the best site to download from, I would be grateful if they would post that info here. Namaste.

This worked for me , got my builtin speakers back!

I selected driver version HD Audio 10.0.19041.264 (under vendor Microsoft)

Might not be the most ideal, but at least now I don't have to use my bluetooth headset when I want to hear sound.

Well. as of today, 20H2 is available and sound is working under the MS drivers.......do I dare to update to Realtek????

Perhaps some other time................don't really have a reason to do that.

I have an MSI motherboard and after the last update, my Realtek microphone is detected by the system also detected by Realtek audio console but not recording anything

I've tried everything but the mic won't work

As long as I researched about that ....I found 2 ways......either you can go to the previous version (1909) of win 10 or wait until the latest update (20H2) comes .....In the next update this problem will be fixed.  

Yes I think so!  I'll wait until the next update and I'll just buy a new USB microphone  for now
