I had this issue back the first week of May. I rolled back to 109, unto this month, when the system icons in the task bar stopped responding. I also have 4 sticks of memory, both 1909 and 2004 see only two sticks, Known good sticks, occasional blue screen, a memory issue. Tons of other issues to I put 2004 back on. No sound from HDMI, links to trouble shooting and pre-installed apps like calc all said I needed an app for that. Still only 2 sticks of memory seen. I imaged the drive with 1909, installed 2004, also copied all important docs and pics to a third drive. After 2004, other drives had GPT protected. Tried to do a repair, but the options were messed up, some just had emtpy squares, or were missing. Tried a restore which blue screened and rebooted to the fatal error 0xc000021a, refers to a corrupted Winlogon. No choice but to do a fresh clean install.

Now the imaged drive is accessible, still trying to recover the third drive. I have 2004 now. Only issue now is still 2 of 4 sticks of memory. This has cost me three weeks or more trouble shooting, two motherboards, 8 sticks of memory and of course, all paid apps require being paid for again, That would be Mini partition tool, Acronis, NTI Echo backup, THREE purchases of the full office suite. I CANNOT USE  the pre-installed outlook, as that is merely a local version of owa, which is useless, a huge waste of time, and over $400 in parts costs, cannot manage mail at all with either of these versions. All my mail folders are maintained separately from the inbox. All that is left now, is to try to recover the third hard drive. I also need to get my fourth drive back into action which runs a Linus OS, I understand that Linux does not have these issues. I intend to run windows through Linus in vm, so I o not have to lose every thing I have, which is all windows based, not compatible or accessible through Linus other than through VM.

I was told by one microsoft tech that my computer must be incompatible with windows 10 because build my own computers, for 26 years. This computer has had windows 10 since October of 2014.

Last thing for everyone, other than the memory problem, which is NOT the motherboard or the memory, as the memory is seen in the Bios. Even talked to Asus techs, they agreed, It is an OS problem, In 1909, when it started failing, one thing that also happened, was I had intermittent use of all usb ports. Now all is working except 2 of 45 sticks of memory.  Apparently updating to 2004 should be done as a clean install. EToo bad microsoft is not liable for all the costs and lost time. This is almost a Vista moment!!!

Did you get any errors, any stop codes, at one point, during an attempt to restore, which blue screened, rebooted and I got stop code 0xc000021a, and turned off the PC, A serious fatal error, I had to completely install fresh, I had backed up everything, imaged the drive with 1909, and both the drives become GPT protected. The imaged drive, I used testdisk and recovered it completely. Still trying to recover the third drive but I do have all my data.

Yep this has been ongoing since Mays first update and withe the July 14th, 20h2 and 2004 updates have made it worse.

double check you RAM, be sure they are seated and see if it is recognizable in the BIOS.  It is extremely rare for RAM o go bad but I had one go bad once in my computer.

We are trying to go back to Win 7 but MS is blocking our activation of it so now we are screwed.  Good thing I only did one computer and found this out.  Once you upgrade there is no going back.

I cannot log into my account on this computer if my vpn is on, but I have not tried this since a was force do do a clean install. oh wait, I am logged into my microsoft account, now that is the only account on this PC!! and my VPN is ALWAYS RUNNING, no vpn, no internet.  Not using a VPN, is like going into a **** house without a condom. Could not log into my account or use the store is the vpn was running, but now I can.
