how to fix Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 failed - 0xc19001e1

Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 failed to install all the way.  I have tried twice to get this update and both times it did not complete all the way / only 86% then failed.  When I check for updates again I get:

Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004

the next version of Windows is available with new features and security improvements.  When you're ready for update, select "Download and install"

Can someone help me with this update problem?

    I have a tera bite of space and it still won't download or install

    I can't get any fixes to work for installing this update. The download works fine, i have enough space, and I cleaned the update temp files and data. I suspect some type of malware may have modified my environment somewhere down the line and I have since done my best efforts to remove it.

    Visually the installer UI is very stripped down, which I presume is not normal:

    Do I need to reinstall windows.... again?

    Please send help.

    Go to Administrative Tools>Services     When i click services it says im not an administrator when i am, it blocks me from opening it

    Well, I guess this thread is mute now.  I've been following it since June, and tried absolutely everything mentioned herein, and was never able to successfully install 2004 :-(

    Late last week, I noticed 2004 hadn't been an Update option for awhile, so I thought that I'd try again.

    I went to the Microsoft Update site, and hit the latest Update key.

    I DID disable my Norton virus software, but I had done that before to no avail.  I did nothing else, and let it run.

    Much to my surprise, the Update installed effortlessly!

    After it had finished, I went to system, and surprisingly in did not say 2004?  What had installed was Version 20H2!

    The 1st glitch was my display.  I had to uninstall the display device it had assigned, and then reinstall my NVIDIA drivers and software.

    Once I completed that, everything things to be working.

    The only other thing happening is with my remote sound-card (which is used for recording music).  When I have it set as Default Sound, it works until I let the computer rest for an hour. When I go back, there is no sound!?  I must choose another sound device, confirm it, and then switch it back.  I will hopefully find a solution soon.

    However, other than that, I am happy with 20H2!  

    So anyway, everyone should try again to update from the Microsoft site.  It won't be 2004, but who needs it! LOL
