Windows live mail error 0X800C013E after feature 2004

I copied the link to the solution after translating it into english. Here it is and it worked for me, after spending an hour fighting unnecessarily with my ISP whose fault it wasn't. I also got a few dozen previously deleted messages reappearing in my inbox and sent box.

Close Windows Live Mail.

In the registry under

Computer \ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows Live Mail

create these 3 DWORD entries (I didn't have them) or change them to 1 if available

RecreateFolderIndex = 1

RecreateStreamIndex = 1

RecreateUIDLIndex = 1

Restart Windows Live Mail. Then the message display goes back to normal for me and the 3 values in the registry are reset to 0. Can be left like this.

For me, the account display in WLM with several accounts after the Windows Update 2004 was corrupt. This is also fixed.

How do I add the 3 DWord entries as you suggest.  I found the correct place, but no way to add entries

This fix works well and saved me from having to rebuild a lot of email in a different program.  Thanks.  The German threw me a bit, but I was able to add the 3 DWORDS to the registry and assign them the number 1.  After rebooting Windows Live Mail now displays new email messages.

You may not be able to get your categories (storage folders?) back. Just recreate the categories in the places where they formerly were.

As for your lost emails, with WLM closed, using Windows Explorer you could try searching the message store folder tree looking for *.eml files that have a creation date similar to the emails that you lost. Double click on the .eml file to temporarily open WLM and if this is a lost email, then forward it to yourself and it will re-appear in your inbox. Emails which have been (accidentally) deleted from the WLM index usually stay around in the file folders until WLM needs to recover the lost space and does a final purge.

To find the WLM message store location, open WLM and navigate to FILE>OPTIONS>MAIL>ADVANCED>MAINTENANCE>STORE FOLDER>STORE LOCATION.

Once you find your message store on your hard drive using Windows Explorer, close WLM and make a temporary copy of the message store with a different name. You can now look for your lost emails in this second temporary copy of the message store and if you find them, then double click on the .eml files and that will temporarily open WLM so you can forward the file back to the INBOX of your original message store.

Your file associations under windows for .eml file extensions must indicate that Windows Live Mail is the default application to load.

I had this problem 2 days ago after a weekend windows update.

Unable to send and receive emails in our live mail. iiInet  (the online iinet webmail was OK)

Anyway I did these registry changes and it seems to have corrected the incoming outgoing mail issue but it had removed all previous historical emails and also my sub inbox category set ups.

Is this normal?

Is there a way to get those settings bacK?
