As soon as this update installed, my system stopped detecting my second monitor - which had been working fine until then. I can't find a way to get it going again.

What a broken lot of updates I've had recently (see below) and finally, it's stable & OK. My computer is a Dell XPS L702X with 16GB RAM. My O/S is Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 OS Build 18363.900 and the drama started with the first item below: 08 June 2020 2020-01 Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4497165). I clicked "Update Now" so I could see what happens. Installation occurred before & after reboot. When I logged-in, there was no extended display. Checking this reverted the main display to 640x480. WinZip thought that the entire computer had changed and so all utilities wanted a new license. My second hard-drive "D" had disappeared also. Panic ensued, so rather than rolling back the install, I decided the cold reboot. This done, my "D" drive came back but my second display was still not working. Another cold reboot with no change, so I went into display settings, unplugged the display-port and plugged it back in then the second display came on. WinZip no longer complained about the computer changing but several licenses were trashed that I reverified successfully. Update for Office File Validation 2010 (KB2333065). This update is reinstalled a multiplicity of times. After the above update, there were 2 other installs on the 9th & 10th June. 2. 10 June 2020 2020-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based System (KB4560960). There are now further hardware issues in terms of non-functioning devices, however, several system-device drivers were "downgraded" it seems. There are 8 listed below: (i) 2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) processor family DRAM Controller - 0104: Installed 10.1.1.35 17/08/2016. Latest 10.1.1.45 02/01/2018. (ii) 2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) processor family PCI Express Controller - 0101: Installed 10.1.1.35 17/08/2016. Latest 10.1.1.45 02/01/2018. (iii) Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 1 - 1C10: Installed 10.1.1.35 17/08/2016. Latest 10.1.1.45 02/01/2018. (iv) Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 2 - 1C12: Installed 10.1.1.35 17/08/2016. Latest 10.1.1.45 02/01/2018. My concern is why the latest Cumulative Update (KB4560960) would have done this given that the previous Cumulative Update (KB4497165) didn't touch these drivers. If I upgrade these drivers to the latest version 10.1.1.45, am I likely to brick my system? Hopefully, future Cumulative Updates will be tested by keeping in scope a total view of what is systems; old and new, that are likely to be impacted. This is not the first time that a Cumulative Update has broken my system. I'm not sure which update did this but prior to the last two updates cited above, this particular update trashed the Realtec Audio so that the speakers and headphones failed but HDMI audio was OK. I recovered from this by reinstalling RealTec with the compatible version from the Dell Support site.

KB4557957 killed my network printing also on my Brother printer (I'm on v 2004 which MS says has no reported issues). The print job appears in the print queue and disappears as if it was sent to the printer but nothing happens. The troubleshooter says everything is fine. Reinstalling the printer driver didn't help. Uninstalling KB4557957 brought printing back. Just guessing here but I think it's the SMBv3 security updates that did it.

Hello! I updated my computer yesterday and I am getting an "Activate Windows" error. Windows 10 was installed on my laptop. I don't know where to find the activation code to fix this. When I restart, the error goes away but always returns. Is a new update coming to fix this?

Hello, So some of my files are there, but my really(of course) important directory is gone...forever I fear. I uninstalled the update and still nothing. After the update it just kept saying that it could not find my user account (there is only one account?) and I restarted into a black Win screen with none of my settings or taskbar icons. Confused I looked at Users and knew I was in what I thought was a temp account since the c:\users\ directory showed my one and only account, so I was confused. I accessed my user account and restarted, everything seemed in order until of course I go to work on some important project that I have spent weeks on, and with no need for a MTBF scenario data backup in the near future, considering I had just purchased this MSI laptop less than 5 months ago, I didn't expect a failure scenario to come in the form of an update and all diagnostics come back clean. The directory can still be seen however once I interact with it, it states that it may be on another storage device and I need to plug it in, or it may be on another account, or it simply does not exist anymore. Weeks of work gone, lesson learned.

As soon as this update installed, my system stopped detecting my second monitor - which had been working fine until then. I can't find a way to get it going again.
