Mikegreeny, Your issue or lack of an issue does not begin to show empathy for those of us who are having issues. I have Window 10. The issue is I have not opted to have one password to access all of my devices. It appears in having to accept to allow MICROSOFT to make changes to my personal computer it, MICROSOFT has subversively taken control of my computer and will not allow me to use my user selected password- aka local - to access a device I own. This is not an employment related device hooked up to an employer network where there is an IT department to keep this kind of thing from happening. SO when I go to change the password, I cannot use the original, and if I select to change the password, it is now changing the microsoft password that is used with employment activities. This is just ludicrous.

I can change passwords on a local account. Explain the process you are going through. I think you are hitting the wrong screen. Also sometimes you just need to "switch user" on the main log in and all is well.

Thank you Susan, for your response. No, I am not hitting or entering the wrong screen. When I turn my PC entry is by password. I know my password. My system now tells me to enter my microsoft password. Once I do this all of my information becomes available This just happened over the weekend. I have not agreed to have one password for entry into any device. My microsoft password is only used for TEAMS and employer reported emailing, if I chose to enter the system through OUTLOOK 365. I do not want to access my personal computer using a microsoft password. This is not a microsoft network device. I use certain programs by microsoft but have never had to enter any of them using a microsoft password. I just need to be able to 'restore' my system to a day during last week when I could access my information using the password I created when I purchased the PC.

I been having problems with the Windows 10 update 1909 (KB4497165) since it was pushed out to my laptop at about 11:50 pm May 31st. It has not worked properly since. I spent >20 hours trying to repair (I could write a small book explaining). In short, every time I reboot, a loose Windows 10 and Office 360 configurations...I basically have to rebuild my laptop as if it where a new purchase. Everything works fine until I reboot...I loose start up and menu configurations, have to re-validate my Office 360 license, rebuild my Outlook email accounts, I loose my MS Edge configurations and synchronization, I have to rebuild favorites, I loose Office file histories and short cuts, etc. It's a major pain in the lower backside. I have used the Microsoft O/S since the DOS days. I've never experience such a fouled up patch. Sorry I offer no solutions, but I agree with you. Fix it!
