It seems strange to say that there are no known issues with version 2004. Since updating to this version I have lost Films & TV player (frozen image and then 0x800705aa error notice) and ALL sound.  Troubleshooter does not detect anything.

I have tried to reinstall the Windows Media Creator as mentioned on another support page but this fails with a message Windows 10 is already installed.  It does kindly give me an option to delete everything and go back to factory settings - but that is NO solution.

So, Microsoft - what's the deal?

    https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/261111-performance-issue-with-windows-10-2004/

I may have found a temporary solution to my issue. Earlier today, while I was at the office, I researched 2004 issues. I came across an article regarding Malwarebytes' ransomware protection. The symptoms are pretty much identical to the issues I have. I've turned off ransomware protection, and I haven't had an issue for the last two hours.

Thanks for pointing me in this direction. Your comment was reinforced by following MWB's own forum, which relates several recent updates but concludes by saying that their latest update did NOT deal with the problems experienced with Win10 v2004!

So I just 'quit' the program (quitting 'sticks' even after restarts), resulting in MS Defender/Windows Security taking over all aspects - I'm most impressed that MS have really upped their game in this and now doubt whether a third party Security program is needed (especially at £30 pa!).

The result (after several days of trial): COMPLETE CURE - so far!

I might see if MWB will agree a refund as only recently renewed subscription!! Some hope.

Hi, I had to reinstall my Windows to 2004 last week ago. Since then, I have permanent problems with my sound. In the games sound drops off, stutters or cracks after ca. 10 min with and without headphones connected. I have made a downgrade to 1903 version, but the problem persists. I have reinstalled all drivers and nothing helped. Any solutions?

    Thanks

    ML
