rdr_file_system 0x27 BSOD After Windows 10 2004 update, but only on domain profiles

Good morning, I am having an issue on some PCs recently after some PCs received the Windows 10 2004 build update. After receiving said update, the machines will BSOD with a 0x027 error code when logging into a domain profile while connected to the network.

If I remove the network cable from the PC and log into a domain account that was cached on the machine before the update, it will log in without issues and then I can connect it to the network and it seems to resume function. I can also sign into a local account on the machine, with and without network connectivity. 

I used Bluescreen View to look at the dumps which seem to be showing rdbss.sys and mrxsmb20.sys as drivers that are causing the issue. I have tried updating network drivers etc from the vendors websites and not relying on Windows to, but am still having the issue.

The other bizarre thing is if the PC crashes 3 times, boots into the recovery mode to try and repair your PC and I restart it, it will then log in once to a domain account and seem to be functioning, however if the PC is restarted it will BSOD on log in.

Has anyone seen or heard of any issues like this since this update? Could it be something out dated on the server that is causing the issue to happen to the machines on the newer OS? I can't help but feel like it has something to do with folder redirection and that is why cached accounts will work with no network connection however I am stumped how to get around this other than not updating every other machine, and rolling back if possible (I had a PC that was upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 and went straight to the 2004 build and BSOD'd, I tried to roll back to Win7 and system will not boot at the moment saying it is missing system files etc.).

I have some mini dumps I can share if that would help as I would like to get to the bottom of this if possible.

    Also getting this error on one of our Surface Pro 4 computers trying to log in to a domain account after 2004 update. (interestingly, most of our Surface Pros have been deferred from getting the 2004 update from Microsoft due to compatibility issues. Yet this older one has received it. )

    I can log in with the Domain Administrator account fine as well, but as soon as you try to log into the User Domain profile it BSoD with the mrxsmb20.sys rdr_file_system

    I've run all possible windows updates, as well as downloaded firmware from the Microsoft website. Still giving the error.

    Per the instructions from someone else in this thread I got the user to switch off the wifi and log into the domain account not connected to then network. Logs in fine, re-enable wifi and get reconnected to the surface. Check the Sync Center settings and low and behold they have accidentally enabled an offline sync on a network folder. Disabled offline sync and re-booted the Surface and was able to log into the domain account without issue.

    Wasted an hour being stuck in windows repair boot loops and such before getting back to a log in screen and finally able to log in as admin prior to this.

    Usually having the offline sync enabled doesn't cause such a catastrophic issue as this. Any ideas why the 2004 win update handles it so badly??

    Getting the same BSOD, mrxsmb20.sys rdr_file_system when users logon with domain account and have folderredirection enabled

    tested this on multiple setups

    Hope that a fix will be available ASAP.

    I am getting the same thing here but with new builds.  If I use the media creation tool to install the latest 2004 version Win 10 Pro installation on any of my dell laptops, ONLY for domain profiles will I get this error.  The local admin account does not get this, only for domain profiles.  It will NEVER create the profile, if you go to C:\Users, there is no profile there other than the local admin account.

    I have similar issue with different Dell laptops E5450 -> 7400 and 5400. The problem that i have identified is with offline files. We have Documents folder relocated to server share. if i turn offline files off, the problem is gone. I noticed same problem in older versions of windows 10 https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/bsod-issue/677dae23-51c3-41ad-af92-286030ed47bc but now looks like, the problem is back.
