Hi, Each and every time when i do some work in explorer like transferring a file from one location to another it always creates a mess with the address bar which is occuring for past 2 major updates 22h2 and now 23h2.

Edition Windows 11 Pro

After doing some copy paste thing, this happens. Hope you notice that recycle bin is highlighted unwantedly.

I have the same exact problem. Sometime the dropdown take almost all the screen! Any new about this?
No fix yet. If you're seeing this problem when selecting an item from the "New" menu at the upper-left, instead use your right-click "New" menu.

I have been experiencing this as well, very randomly but still. This is how I fix it when it happens, not a permanent fix though sadly.
I went into folder options > View
Under "When typing into list view" I had "Select the typed item in the view" selected. I changed it to "Automatically type into the search box" and it fixed it. Even when i changed it back to the original option. Hope this helps someone.

That procedure has no effect on what on what I described in my reply from March 14. If the cursor is in the address bar when selecting an item from the upper-left "New" menu, the address bar drop-down list will be activated every time.

I face the same issue.
Let's say I have 5 tabs open in Windows File Explorer.
I go to the address bar on Tab 1 and click on it so that I can copy the file address.
The address bar drops down to let me copy the address. Let's call this the "Drop-down" phase.
After I copy the address, I paste it where I need it.
Now when I go to Tab 2 or any of the other tabs, they are all in "Drop-down" phase.
In order to use a Tab, I have to click on the address bar twice in order to remove it from "Drop-down" phase.

perfect, thats what i was looking for. w11 explorer doesnt seem to be finished at all.
