Windows 11 - File Explorer always opening the Address Bar after cut copy paste any file - Huge Mess

I see that you're experiencing an issue with File Explorer in Windows 11 where the address bar gets highlighted or activated after performing file operations like cut, copy, or paste. This could be due to a focus issue where the system is set to automatically focus on the address bar after such operations.

I also tried to do some tests for this problem. The version number is 22631.2861, but after cutting/pasting/copying and dragging files, everything seems to be fine in the file explorer.

First of all, if this problem occurs after a recent update, I It is recommended that you try Roll Back an Update via Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to uninstall recent quality updates and security updates. This should allow you to troubleshoot whether the problem is caused by the KB update.

In addition, I will try to suggest that you share with me a video of your problem reproducing. I will try to discuss this video with internal staff and ask if it is caused by a recent update. If it is convenient, please upload the video to the cloud disk and publish it. Share link.

In the meantime, please check if your device has any external USB devices plugged in, if so, try disconnecting these extra devices (leave only mouse, keyboard.) and then perform copy/paste/cut etc operations again to see the issue whether it happens again)

Hi, I am experiencing this same issue and it is driving me crazy. My problem is that sometimes the address bar dropdown doesn't go away after focusing. It just stays there even if I navigate to other folders or use different tabs. The only way to make the dropdown go away is to click on it, which of course brings you back to the focus folder, and then back out of it again to get back where you were. It's so annoying, and is definitely associated with the most recent updates, as it did not do this prior to the last two updates. I never once even had the address bar drop down like that. How do you turn it off?

Very annoying phenomenon! hope it is addressed ASAP. in case of a computer work its not that easy to roll back a windows update..

Hi, Each and every time when i do some work in explorer like transferring a file from one location to another it always creates a mess with the address bar which is occuring for past 2 major updates 22h2 and now 23h2.

After doing some copy paste thing, this happens. Hope you notice that recycle bin is highlighted unwantedly.

SAME here! Whenever I cut, delete or sometimes do nothing, it stays on top of the actions menu like this. It only disappears when I click on the address entry area and then click away anywhere else. ALWAYS that! Nothing too harmful, but it is very annoying...
