I have the same problem (Windows 10 Home 64bit)

But my C:\ disk already has a recovery partition

    Partition ### Type Dim. Offset

    Partition 1 Primary 100 Mb 1024 Kb
    Partition 2 Primary 465 Gb 101 Mb
    Partition 3 Recovery 563 Mb 465 Gb

The only difference (with respect to the Article linked above) is that mine is 563 MB "type Recovery" while the article talks about a "primary" 250 MB big.

    So, what is missing?

Windows Update KB5034441 is a security update to the WinRe environment, but people are running into problems trying to get it downloaded and installed. KB5028997 tells how to resize your recovery partition so that this update can be installed, but it applies only to Windows 11 computers. I am in the same boat as John Dow 987654 and ULtraGreG. I need a workaround that applies to Windows 10 computers, if there is one.

Same problem here for W10, tried the workaround and didn't work before I realised it seemed to be for W11 not 10.

Update just keeps failing again and again with no way to stop it trying to download it.

This update FAILS on any windows 10 install that isn't a non 22H2 base install.

My older systems install this fine but they are real old sitting in a closet win 10 pro installs that have been updated from 1803.

and my recovery partition is *1* GB and it still fails on my SSD so it's a microsoft issue.

I used the update hider app thing from microsoft to get rid of this from the update page cause it should be included in next months big ole **** update 2nd tuesday release OR the end of the month **** release. But yeah, its a microsoft issue. see why i wont update for free to windows 11? if they cant make stuff work for windows 10 how bad do you think the windows 11 version is going to be for their MAC looking os?

all they really need to do is add a top system bar with FINDER and properties and they can sell out completely

get the hide updates app, hide this garbage update
