We have 6 windows 10 laptops in the house. The only 2 this installs on are the two laptops that do not qualify for Windows 11.

The cynic in me does wonder if this if this is relevant....

Same error code 0x8007643. Reboot's & re-attempts to install don't help. No integrity violations on a SFC (before & after re-attempts).

    god I hope not

This is so typical of Microshaft to regard us as their testers and do inadequate testing before a release. It's a regression script, so it's all automatic, before someone talks about the work hours required. And, as usual, it's a nasty catch 22. You create recovery data...but handling the recovery data is the problem. And- accidentally on purpose- penalize those that won't accept the latest POS. People are reluctant to switch from 10 because it's one of the few releases that pretty much works. More of these "errors" will no doubt continue to happen the older the release gets.

I have Win10 on a laptop that came with it and it's useful to have a machine for the things that are only written for Windoze. My main system is Ubuntu Jammy Jellyfish and, I can tell you, you would never see this kind of problem with it. That's why MS has become the AOL of OS's. I don't fear hell; I worked over two decades as an MCSE. I wrote Calculator, Notepad and Paintbrush for Win1.1 and it has always been this way with them. The day they support dual booting with Linux I will change my tune. And give up FAT, SMTP and the other inefficient dinosaurs that never seem to die.

Same error code 0x8007643. Reboot's & re-attempts to install don't help. No integrity violations on a SFC (before & after re-attempts). As a side note (in response tot the above post) - all 6 of the laptops are running 22H2, so it is an issue for up-to-date win 10 machines too).

A very large number of users are reporting a failure in downloading this update (KB5034441). There are suggestions to increase the size of the recovery partition to allow the update to succeed. This is a complicated and possibly risky procedure and many are saying it does not work. Microsoft will most likely remove the update or apply a fix.

This update FAILS on any windows 10 install that isn't a non 22H2 base install.

My older systems install this fine but they are real old sitting in a closet win 10 pro installs that have been updated from 1803.

and my recovery partition is *1* GB and it still fails on my SSD so it's a microsoft issue.

I used the update hider app thing from microsoft to get rid of this from the update page cause it should be included in next months big ole **** update 2nd tuesday release OR the end of the month **** release. But yeah, its a microsoft issue. see why i wont update for free to windows 11? if they cant make stuff work for windows 10 how bad do you think the windows 11 version is going to be for their MAC looking os?

all they really need to do is add a top system bar with FINDER and properties and they can sell out completely

get the hide updates app, hide this garbage update
