Same problem. I am a 73 year old dinosaur with impaired vision following five eye surgeries. How dare Microsoft expect me to fix this myself or pay a fortune to rent a geek! Doesn't the company make enough money to offer support for problems it creates?

Couldn't MS do this to its users automatically without having to do it manually for non-technical users? :/

2024-01-10T14:50:55+00:00 Hello, I am glad I am not the only one having an issue installing "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)". Every time I try to install I get this error "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070643)" Not sure what it is, I have tried tons of different methods, from disabling anti virus, all non Windows services, checking for corrupt system files, nothing is working. I wanted to try manually installing the update, but (KB5034441) does not show up in Microsoft Update Catalog. What I was able to do is get the update to download onto my computer, by stopping wuauserv and stopping bits. Then deleting all the data in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution then turning wuauserv and bits back on which redownloads all the files in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. That allowed Windows update to download KB5034441, but it errored out during the installation process. Any help would be appreciated.
PS: I am using 64-bit W10 Home

2024-01-10T03:02:16+00:00 Oooh interesting.
Further to my earlier posts, KB5034441 installed quietly on it's own on one of the four win 10 machines it failed on earlier - this was without any re-attempt to install it manually (I saw no point as this approach had failed on 2 other machines) or doing anything to bitlocker or recovery partitions as per some of the solutions knocking about (all of which seem highly technical & way beyond the capabilities of most lay people).
Hopeful that it had been fixed 'back end', I just tried on the other 3 it failed on. No go.... same error code 0x80070643 on those (all of which are all HP 10th gen machines, though I doubt that has anything to do with it, as the XPS is also a 10th gen & also has bitlocker enabled).
I'll leave it to do like the Dell XPS & Just Work at some point, or wait until it is pulled & replaced by MS. Which they jolly better. The solutions offered don't seem to work for everyone.

2024-01-09T23:25:22+00:00 We have 6 windows 10 laptops in the house. The only 2 this installs on are the two laptops that do not qualify for Windows 11.
The cynic in me does wonder if this if this is relevant....
Same error code 0x8007643. Reboot's & re-attempts to install don't help. No integrity violations on a SFC (before & after re-attempts).
god I hope not
