Windows 10 22h2 security update [KB5034441] fails to install with code: 0x80070643

The latest update downloads and then fails to install.

  • OS Build # 19045.3930.
  • Update Troubleshoot tool repair but it does not help.
  • MS Windows Update Catalog does not have the update.
  • Other updates all went through without any trouble.

This is a brand new update. Is this a known issue? Is there a resolution specific to this update? (Please do not copy and paste standard procedure)

    Just increase the recovery partition space to 1 GB

    If you are not familiar, you can use the video tutorial on YouTub.. Search "Create recovery partition in Windows 10/11 UEFI → IT Army"

    After resize, did you run:

    reagentc /enable

    To re-enable WinRE

    2024-04 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)

    Download error - 0x80070643

    Well all the instructions of below John DeV

    • Independent Advisor do not work in fact the above error will leave your windows where you cannot update until this error is fixed.
    • So be careful.
    • I consider this is the last straw for Microsoft of where my computer is not operating as a said system for business and personal comfort and safety.
    • Onto a Mac at least I can turn it on and work without all the bugs and errors of windows. Windows is no longer user friendly and so much for windows 10 will be the last windows.
    • No resolution but it leaves your windows without the option to update- always return to error.
