Windows 10 22h2 security update [KB5034441] fails to install with code: 0x80070643

The latest update downloads and then fails to install.

  • OS Build # 19045.3930.
  • Update Troubleshoot tool repair but it does not help.
  • MS Windows Update Catalog does not have the update.
  • Other updates all went through without any trouble.

This is a brand new update. Is this a known issue? Is there a resolution specific to this update? (Please do not copy and paste standard procedure)

    I briefly read through the instruction of how to resize: first shrink the storage partition and then increase the size of the partition that is to small now.... Yet, those instructions use terms that are incomplete in meaning, so you have to have some way to find the meaning of things left unexplained; the instructions seem to me like a jigsaw puzzle missing some of the piece, but sold as complete.

    I agree that they keep adding features that are not needed, and worse, they make it like running through a maze to try and turn them off....

    Try a second (usually the right, unless you are heraldically "sinister") mouse-button click on the Start button to find Disk Manager and Device Manager and more.

    Maybe not when doing a "restore", but when cloning an existing disk-drive, there definitely is an option to resize as part of the "copy" step.
