    Dear njs@softsquad

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community。

This is a file image corruption of XBOX,

we suggest you to press WIN+S to search for CMD - right-click - Run as administrator.

    SFC /SCANNOW

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

If the above steps do not work, it is still recommended that you exit S-mode.

Then download the windows 11 installation media to repair the installation.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 Select Download Tool Now - Run - Accept - Select Create Media Tool for another computer - Select DVD ISO file - Save as Desktop - Select ISO file on desktop - Right click - Mount - Run SETUP.EXE

I look forward to your further reply.

I hope the above information can help you.

    Best Wish

Hi, I would just like to say that neither of these worked.

    Thanks

You can't run CMD as administrator in S mode. That means there seems to be no known way to fix anything in Windows 11 S mode because there is no way to get out of S mode. I have tried everything. Suggestions?

This was a fix to a parent's pc so I do not have the pc in front of me, but what I recall doing (and probably frowned upon).

Deleted gameplatformservices.dll (yes you cannot run the command line but you can still delete system files! lol)

    Rebooted

Went into settings and turned off the xbox app.

Kind of a hack but it worked.

from settings, navigate to apps, there go to installed apps and search xbox app. Then press the 3 dots icon (...) and advanced options. There is a repair app button that fixes the issue.
