How to install KB5034441: Windows Recovery Environment update for Windows 10, version 21H2 and 22H2: January 9, 2024

I tried to manually resize the partition by 250 MB per the instructions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5028997-instructions-to-manually-resize-your-partition-to-install-the-winre-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf#articleFooterSupportBridge=communityBridge

I had to exit Disk Part because I can not shrink the OS partition first:

    Select partition #3 (117 GB) and try again to shrink it.

    I would be tempted to shrink by 500 MB, instead of 250 MB.

    Then, delete partition #4, to create 250+1102 (or 500+1102) of free space.

    Recreate partition #4, into this free space.

    ... and so on

    I performed this procedure three times. Each time, REAGENTC failed to find the recovery partition.

    REAGENTC /INFO has no location information.

    Windows DISKMANAGEMENT app shows the partition and reports status "Healthy recovery partition".

    I tried to use REAGENTC /SETREIMAGE but cannot find the correct syntax for a partition; the only examples are for a recovery file on the windows partition.

    Microsoft has re-issued KB5034441.

    It uses a different technique to create a folder that contains the updated files, and then copies those files into the WinRE partition, without the need to "expand" the WinRE partition.
