I cannot connect my HP Pavillion 15t-eg100 to two external monitors. I am using a lenovo docking station and two lenovo ThinkVision T24i-30 monitors.
I have two monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse plugged into a docking station. When I plug the docking station into my laptop via USB-C, the keyboard and mouse work just fine but the monitors do not. All accessories work when connected to another laptop (which is running Windows 10). I know this is not an issue related to cables because I can swap between laptops and the screens are instantly detected. It is worth noting that the USB docking station is also actively charging my computer, so it should be capable of sending video unless I misunderstand.
Here are the steps I have already taken:
- Rescan to detect monitors several times
- Check all cable connections/power
- Update all my drivers
- Check for software updates and restart my computer
- Install Thunderbolt Control Center to attempt to detect displays
- Install Lenovo Accessories and Display Manager to attempt to detect displays

2024-11-06T17:14:21+00:00 This worked on my Lenovo laptop (Nov 2024). I forgot about my laptop not being plugged in and it got drained. Few hours later, when I turned it on after putting 2% of charge, the display on external monitors does not work. I tried isolating the cause of the issue and I found out that not the cable nor the monitor is an issue as everything is working fine with my other laptop (for work). The laptop is the only cause.
I tried your method, setting up a timer and hold power button for 40 seconds after turning it off and unplugging everything. The behavior I've seen was it turned on then force shutdown then turn it on again within those 40-second hold. Then there you go, plugging the type c adapter I got, issue got fixed.

2024-11-06T16:37:39+00:00 Yes, I tried counting but really just held it down for a while. Not sure why this works but it must perform something similar to a "hard reset".

2024-10-23T11:47:41+00:00 Interestingly, this worked for me too. My hp laptop was working just fine through the docking station and then stopped working all of a sudden. I did several regular reboots along with rebooting the docking station, checking drivers, checking windows updates, etc. A hard reboot (and yes I did hold the power button for 40 seconds although I don't know if there's any significance to that), did actually get things working.
