Windows Update failure for January 2024

As usual lately, KB5034203 and KB5034122 fail to install with error code 0x8007000d. At this point it is out of our control. Hopefully those at Microsoft will see this thread and make the correction which has continued for a about a month. It is saying files are missing and they will try again. So everyone knows, accountability lies with Microsoft 1000%. This is unacceptable and a disgrace they haven't been able to fix this issue as of yet. Meanwhile my computer is working fine. Glass half full. Otherwise it is so aggravating!

I only upgraded an old Windows 8 laptop to Windows 10 on Saturday, it functioned perfectly from Saturday evening until Monday lunchtime on Windows 10 but the Monday Windows update put it into a continuous cycle of failing and restarting....only fixed by regressing back to Windows 8.

Is this part of the issues with the upgrade and once a patch is released will I be able to then go back to Windows 10?

It may be that they have rolled them up into the last KB update you mentioned.

It's sometimes better to subsume a KB release when it is known to have issues previously.

Just my four penn'th/cents from a software perspective.

I've never checked the "health of my machine." ? Yes, I also now have "Up To Date" and have KB5034582. You're right - 1) (above) didn't fix the High Memory Usage. AND, I didn't mention that zooming in on maps and full screen is VERY slow and causes MAX FAN EVERY TIME. Are they copying what I'm looking at???? It never did this before December 2023.

No that's not the problem. I checked the health of my machine. It's all good. Right now, check for updates shows it's all up to date. It is not attempting KB5034122 or KB5034203 right now. At this point Microsoft has to be responsible for the fixes and should roll out something to replace the failed updates. It is surprising that they have not done so already.
