Windows Update failure for January 2024

Since Microsoft is aware of the issues with this newest round of updates, for Windows 10 O/S my desktop computer

still searching for updates and I'm wondering how or what will happen when these updates have received the patch to correct the issue will my computer be able to download and install

    Yes I have the same problem. Microsoft told me it is a known issue. I am getting a failure to update KB5034122 with an error code 0x8007000d or error code 0x800f080a over and over and over again it tries to installl and gets an error. I have Windows 10 in S mode version 22H2. This has never happened since owning this lap top for about 3 years. Never had a problem like this. Machine still working great otherwise. Any eta for Microsoft to fix this update so it will complete??? I have tried troubleshooter and there is nothing wrong to troubleshoot. Restarting does nothing to help. Anyone else out there with same issue???

    No pausing windows update does not work. it is still WUA seems to still be trying to update for other programs and it continually causes errors. I'm having disconnect and reconnect notifications every few mins. Also saw a message that relates to this https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/metadata-staging-failed-result0x80070490-for/73130c25-0414-4925-8368-ee42c731d554 and that Microsoft increased the size of windows recovery which cause systems to crash that have partitions below the new max. Older systems likely don't have disk space on drives available for that increase. This was related to windows 11? the same update process shouldn't be shared for both...

    This is almost making the system unusable with pauses every few minutes locking up the system.

    Like an unwitting sub-postmaster I have been struggling with this for days trying all possible fixes. I wonder if Microsoft will apologise (like Fujitsu) and explain what they have done.
