I googled the actual KB and found this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/kb5034441-windows-recovery-environment-update-for-windows-10-version-21h2-and-22h2-january-9-2024-62c04204-aaa5-4fee-a02a-2fdea17075a8. It seems that it updates the Windows Recovery (WinRE) environment, and the tip about resizing the partition for that is valid. You can find the link to the instructions in the KB article I linked.

I did that and the installation passed.

I don't think, it's needed or critical / important enough... I will just let it sit there, until Microsoft decides to withdraw their [BEEEP] and sends a new, better update. But why Microsoft don't twithdraw it, I don't know......

I can always check for new updates by clicking on the "Retry"-button and the other updates that may come, will install

I also had an update on another computer with only Windows Defender, where the KB5034122 wouldn't install before deactivating Defender.

A computer, on my working place, also with only Windows Defender deactivated, ate them all with pleasure!!!!!!!

I feel like this might be a dumb question, but the partition that needs to shrink - is it the 100MB System one or the larger one (Primary) that has Boot and Basic Data Partition and the the majority of the drive? I'm assuming it's the larger one but I just want to make sure.
