I googled the actual KB and found this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/kb5034441-windows-recovery-environment-update-for-windows-10-version-21h2-and-22h2-january-9-2024-62c04204-aaa5-4fee-a02a-2fdea17075a8. It seems that it updates the Windows Recovery (WinRE) environment, and the tip about resizing the partition for that is valid. You can find the link to the instructions in the KB article I linked.

I did that and the installation passed.

In recent days I've experienced the same installation failure to which countless others in this thread have testified, including the "0x80070643" installation error message. According to my Windows Update History, my Windows 10 system successfully installed two "quality updates" on January 9:

    1. KB5034122 (OS Builds 19044.3930 and 19045.3930)
    2. KB5034275 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2

On January 10 and since, however, the system has failed to install the KB5034441 update.

An additional complication in my experience is that there are other apps/updates that I can't install. Not every app! Not even most apps. But, for example, two 64-bit multimedia apps, both of which successfully launched the popup window that asked whether I gave permission for their installers to make changes to my system, but then produced nothing more than a couple of blinks of a yellow pointer arrow before stalling out and making no further progress with their installations. I've downloaded and installed other apps, both recently and today, so the issue isn't that I can't install *anything;* but the fact that I can't install apps in addition to the latest Windows update is curious and frustrating.

99% of users using windows pc and that says it all and though it's quite natural some minor errors occure as an open source os the windows are there's more than one ways to fix the problem if can't wait to be fixed by it self (I mean by windows automaticly" so bid deal after all the pc is fully functional and any malfunction is almost unnoticeable even in older PC/laptop models!

I won't do anything. I'll just wait some time for Microsoft to fix it
