I also am having this problem. I have done all the suggestions on your post. I have also reinstalled windows 11. Nothing has worked. I desperately need to get this fixed. Can anyone please help?
File explorer not responding in Windows 11. It opens up but becomes unresponsive when you click anywhere.
I tried every solution available on the internet to make file explorer responsive. However, it is not working. I open up file explorer, it opens. Now, when I click any folder or any icon or try to do search, it becomes unresponsive. I have spent days trying to fix this and I am very frustrated with this. Can any Samaritan
help me with this?
Kind Regards,
Sajan

2024-11-19T01:25:28+00:00 Thank you persephione.
These steps and the video was perfect. I did exactly as they said and now my explorer is working again.
I tried the steps suggested by the DYARIBARHAM but they did not work for me.

2024-11-10T20:37:23+00:00 It refuses to search any folder. And I am a hoarder so my folders go back a long time so I'm reluctant to delete any of them.

EDIT: I actually did find a solution for my problem the other night. Mine turned out to be related to Windows Search / Indexing getting stuck. But the specific comment that did it for me was the one A. User listed (more specifically, their second set of instructions), those being:Hi,
