File explorer not responding in Windows 11. It opens up but becomes unresponsive when you click anywhere.

I tried every solution available on the internet to make file explorer responsive. However, it is not working. I open up file explorer, it opens. Now, when I click any folder or any icon or try to do search, it becomes unresponsive. I have spent days trying to fix this and I am very frustrated with this. Can any Samaritan

help me with this?

    Following steps solved my issue.

    Step 1: Be sure that, "Windows Event Log" service is running.

    1. Open services: run "Services.msc".
    2. be sure that "Windows Event Log" is running, and its "Startup Type" is "Automatic".

    Step 2: Reset DCOM permissions.

    1. Run "dcomcnfg"
    2. Open "Componet Services\Computers", right-click "My Computer" and select Properties.
    3. switch to "Default Properties" tab.

    the values ​​should be like this:

    "Default Authentication Level" should be "Connect".

    "Default Impersonation Level" should be "Identify".

    1. even if the values ​​are as above, first select different values ​​and click "Apply", then select the above values and click "Apply" again.
    2. Restart your pc.

    that's all.

    You are a freaking life saver... One of the earlier solutions that was working for everyone, just didn't work for me and I lost hope but then this worked and NOW I CAN OPEN MY FILE EXPLORER AND THANK YOU SO MUCH! You are the best!

    Well, I danced with every solution on the first two pages—tangoed, waltzed, even tried a little moonwalk. None of them wanted to be my partner. I was ready to throw in the towel and declare Windows Explorer the winner of this frustrating dance-off.

    Then, I stumbled onto the third page, feeling like I was on the last leg of a marathon. I saw this solution and thought, "Yeah, right. Like this is going to be the magic spell that fixes everything." But then I remembered that even a 1% chance is still a chance, so I figured, why not give it a shot?

    I rebuilt the Indexing, and lo and behold, Windows Explorer started behaving like a well-trained puppy. It's now faster than ever, practically doing backflips to fetch my files.

    So, a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to whoever shared this solution. You're the real MVP!
