2024-05-12T06:33:37+00:00 You provided a VERY HELPFUL highlighted excerpt in your EDIT:26/02/2024 on Page 1 of these comments. Although it worked, a missing piece of instruction found in the full script reached at the LINK you posted (as HERE, seen above) provided the remainder.
You wrote, "This will ensure the folder which contains the script is selected. Now, we need to run the script, which increases the size of WinRE. For that, run the following command:
.\1.ps1"
The following line should not have followed, yet:
"
After that, press Y to confirm running the script."The text included too early is shown above as
struck-through, above, and missing text is as follows:"When you are asked for the backup directory (this is used to ensure that your device remains bootable if anything goes wrong), enter
C:\2"
Now is when this text applies:
"After that, press Y to confirm running the script.
"Press Enter."
As I said, the script worked, but the backup ended up in a newly created folder named 'y', Hopefully it will never be needed.
Thanks for your good work, and for helping us out of repeated update failures!

2024-05-12T15:53:50+00:00 If Microsoft isn't going to fix this update, they should remove it from the update list. It's been months now, and it still hasn't been fixed.

2024-05-12T16:29:20+00:00 Hello **** mcbarker69
Microsoft cannot remove this update because it is necessary for users who use Bitlocker.
For users who don't use Bitlocker, they can hide it with the Microsoft tool "Wuwhowhide":
Otherwise, to install it anyway (whether you use Bitlocker or not) and get rid of it permanently, both for non experienced users users and for experienced users, as the manual solutions given by Microsoft are risky and complicated for the majority of users, there remains the automatic solution which simply consists of carrying out a Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade.
