Everyday I see the lack of faith and trust in Microsoft as they "force" non essential updates on their customers. The collaboration of Microsoft, Intel, Apple, Dell, HP, Toshiba, Acer, IBM, "Big Box" retailers, and thousands of software producers is criminal. It is no longer about quality/reliability but rather duping customers out of their money while creating an environmental nightmare for the future generation. Customers deserve products they can own and maintain but thanks to greed and lack of professionalism these products have turned into throw away commodities as opposed to dependable tools. This issue is just the tip of a bigger iceberg. It is time to look for viable alternatives that have a vision to put the customer first and reject the obsolescence mentality. Let's "make the computer industry great again!"

I agree with you. MS wants people to upgrade to Win11. I did on my Desktop at a total cost of $400. I have 2 older laptops and one older desktop with Win10. It's impossible for me to spend on these machines. I definitely don't want to create more E-waste. Here we are February 28th, 2024 and still no fix from MS. I like to keep my security patches up to date. For these older PC's I'm holding out with Win10 until October 2025......

IMHO I predict W11 to be a failure like ME/Vista/W8, as only XP/W7/W10 recoognized as mostly "no sweat" versions by me. So hopefully W12 is ready before W10 is EOL'd (meaning "cut from security support"). For the rest (like "unfit" HW) so to partially increase sustainability, I guess Torvalds products are great for such application, especially Mint21. Hence I actively support https://labdoo.ch/ . Finally all seems alike the movement of 500-600y ago (Protestant Reformation) these days.... just do not want to end like Jan Hus or Huldrych Zwingli ;-). If we manage to make the computer industry great again would likely be a task for the youngsters.... them living on inherited funds or having parents doing so makes them "feeling too comfortable" as well I say their raising was based on too many compromises so they feel better in using their cellphones, investing into bitcoins and have fun with AI ... rather than getting their hands dirty and minds straight.... the old grey fox is over and out (as a radio amateur I would state: QRT)

Yes, this method works. Follow the steps exactly, with two exceptions:

1. Use Set-ExceutionPolicy unsigned before running the script instead of Set-ExecutionPolicy remotesigned, otherwise you will get an error about running the script because it isn't digitally signed.
2. At the end of the script when you see this line:

This line is telling you to reboot if there are any other pending partition actions (not the one you're doing with the script), so unless you have made other partition changes before running this script, do not reboot at this point! Enter Y and let the script finish, then reboot and check for updates once more. The update will install successfully.
