2024-02-06T18:33:29+00:00 I can resize the partition no problem, it’s just the fact that the all mighty Microsoft is expecting the consumer to fix their mess up!
I have been working on, building and refurbishing computers since 1998 and can not ever recall Microsoft asking the consumer to fix their mistakes. It was bad enough to put such ridiculous restrictions on the hardware to upgrade to Windows 11, in which I think that was a collaboration with the computer companies, but that’s my personal opinion and of course there are work arounds for that which most everyone knows about. It simply bothers me that the All Mighty Microsoft cannot fix their own mistake!

2024-02-06T18:27:33+00:00 Even in Linux, you should able to allocate for system partition, same goes to Windows 8.1 and above, which you already know thay WinRE is one of the critical part when it comes into recovery .. you may not using this WinRE, but for future risk to mitigate, you need your own backup tools and may required more sophisticated way to achieve ..
EOF, Windows 8.1 and above should have this WinRE to ensure your endpoint exploit risk reduced. Which this KB update refer mostly about BitLocker vulnerabilities exploit.

2024-02-06T18:15:01+00:00 Download EaseUS (in case if you cannot extend the ‘recovery partition’ drive by using Diskpart utility. You wont be able to extend ‘recovery partition’ by using diskpart as it will reply you ‘ .. cannot extend the OEM Partition’.
Step 1 :
extend the ‘recovery partition’ drive (500mb-1000mb suggested for size) using EaseUS
Step 2 :
Start ‘Background Intelligence Transfer Services’ in services.msc
run windows update.
Step 3 : verify your KB download.
Step 4 : done!
Notes : this KB updates need your recovery partition size at least 700mb.
consider this update as Security Update which mitigate the risk of Bitlocker Exploiting vulnerabilities.
