I'm an an IT specialist with 45 years experience (im 60 yo) and have used microsoft products since the DOS days!

I wouldn't do the resizing fix unless I had a complete verified backup of the complete c drive, 4 hours available and someone was paying me to fix it. There's no way a normal computer user should attempt the resizing fix as there is a high chance of things going sideways!

Bottom line is Microsoft needs to fix their update as w10 isn't at end of life yet! Common MS do the right thing and post a corrected update!

    Hi

Microsoft have promised an update to fix this issue , but its clear they are trying to get those on Windows 10 to update to Windows 11, which most will not do as Windows 11 has far too many issues ,Microsoft have issued Instructions how to resolve the issue but like most I am not an IT expert and dont wish to Destroy my system, its Microsofts clear responsibilty to Fix this situation

Actual tech professional here. Just went through what Microsoft listed in the KB to do to resize your partition if the install fails. Fully completed as listed and the install still fails. I'd just mark this one as "ignore" in your install list in Windows Update. Glad to see Microsoft is still pushing out "quality" content that not even professionals can get around... (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

You can hide it with this tool, which Microsoft conveniently no longer has available for download...

    Ramey,

I agree 100 % . I build computers, install OS for myself. I purchased a new Operating System from MS every time I have built a computer. This includes partitioning HD's for my own OS systems. I have even ran BEOS and Windows on the same system. Just to give you an idea of my age LOL. It is ridiculous too me that MS expect people to do this on their own. I probably could do this myself but it is NOT my responsibility ! I have tried to DL it for two days now and keep getting the same **** ! My computer was running perfect, and has been for months, until this update tried to install. Now it is slow as **** and I can't play the only game I play on it (DayZ). MS needs to come up with a fix for this ASAP.
