I did the restore exercise before I reinstalled Windows and took hours getting back to the failed update. Even tried the Media creation tool to repair the failed update. The system file checker (SFC) never found any issue, so I changed the hard drive and went through the painful process again. What's worse the failed update goes through an un-installation process then proceeds to repeat the failed installation. It appears that this is just another planned obsolescence tactic.

It won't download because it is not in their catalog! That is what I have been observing!

Perform a search for it in their catalog - it is not there! DAH M$ - fix your ****!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Microsoft messed up big time. And it's situations like this when people with little skill and confidence leave themselves at the mercy of a corporation. Evolve your skills so they can't do this to you again.

I'm fine with doing one of the fixes but need a green light from our company's IT department first. Maybe they'll notice my ticket soon.

Making mistakes is part of learning. Plus the 2nd method of using Partition Wizard couldn't be more easy and straight forward. People let fear stunt their own development far too much.
