Thank you so much Microsoft as you have started the New Year off with bang with this update failure below on the first patch Tuesday of the year:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441).
Tried multiple times to install this brick but no luck on my OMEN desktop and my wife's Envy laptop. So now what Microsoft?

I am having the same issues as described in this post. 3 machines at home with the same problem.
Peter
I have three Windows 10 (64-bit) systems. Of the three one appears to have installed this update (subsequent checks through Windows Update for completed updates lists KB5034441 as done), one that appears to have downloaded the update but returns error 0x80070643 (as others have described), and the third got to 74% complete then for the next 7 hours did nothing!
The two systems with problems installing the update:
* The one that returns error 0x80070643 -- I've attempted to restart (the other two updates completed successfully with the restart as expected) SEVERAL times and each time Windows Update indicates that the update has been successfully downloaded (no re-download required), but has returned the same error on each occasion (think I've tried half a dozen times now).
* System that spent time at 74% complete -- I finally restarted that system this morning; it completed the two other updates successfully; after the reboot completed I retried. It too indicates that the update file is there, but returns the same error 0x80070643.
So, I went to the Microsoft Catalog to see If I could download the update and then apply locally. The update DOESN'T exist in the catalog. I searched for KB5034441, nothing. I searched all of the Windows 10 updates--they're listed in reverse numerical order thank goodness as the number of updates listed for the various instances of Windows 10 is extremely large: not there either.
Males you wonder if Microsoft has realized there is a rather large issue with this update and will be re-issuing (perhaps with a different KB number for those systems that "appear" to have successfully installed the now missing KB5034441.
P.S.: I've tried the Troubleshooting tool for Windows Update previously; on other updates; and it did nothing. I've run SFC and DISM recently and these both report no issues with system files. So, I don't think I'll be wasting time on the troubleshooter this time, especially since others here have said they've already tried ti and it didn't help at all.
P.P.S.: After the fourth retry on the system that got 74% completed...the update claims to be installed and is listed in the installed updates list.
P.P.P.S.: There has been mention of disabling AV software. My AV software on two of the systems actually tracks/looks for Windows Updates and actually informs me of new updates (option on up to critical) sooner than Windows Update does. I've never encountered an error with this AV installed--and that goes all the way back to Windows 7/Windows Server 2000. That AV software is from ESET.
The third system, the one still encountering the error, run a different AV software--for now--but has never encountered an issue installing Windows Updates. Even so, I disabled it...nothing changed! That AV is Comodo.
