Thank you so much Microsoft as you have started the New Year off with bang with this update failure below on the first patch Tuesday of the year:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441).

Tried multiple times to install this brick but no luck on my OMEN desktop and my wife's Envy laptop. So now what Microsoft?

Don

Others' (https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/192l9kj/cumulative_updates_january_9th_2024/kh32u6f/) and my updated 64-bit W10 Pro. PCs, I'm getting "Status: Download error - 0x80070643" with "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" in 64-bit W10 Pro. right now. I already rebooted once from other today's updates:

I read https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5034441-windows-recovery-environment-update-for-windows-10-version-21h2-and-22h2-january-9-2024-62c04204-aaa5-4fee-a02a-2fdea17075a8's known issue about small WinRE partition with a https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5028997-instructions-to-manually-resize-your-partition-to-install-the-winre-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf link. Couldn't MS do this to its users automatically without having to do it manually for non-technical users? :/

I agree with you. They need to pull this junk and resubmit it where we do not have to jump through hoops to get it installed. I am really getting tired of this mess with MS. It can sit in my updates before I try to install it anymore and mess up our computers as that is probably what will happen.

That is not going to do anything to get this resolved . This is a MS problem and MS needs to get this straightened out. I am not about to mess with my partition and boot config to install this. Read Ant Dude reply above. Thanks anyway.

No problem, I do understand the frustration with update issues such as this. Often this is just an automatic fix using the troubleshooter though. If you get a chance it might be worth trying.
