Thank you so much Microsoft as you have started the New Year off with bang with this update failure below on the first patch Tuesday of the year:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441).

Tried multiple times to install this brick but no luck on my OMEN desktop and my wife's Envy laptop. So now what Microsoft?

Don

I've attempted a fix with the troubleshooter and it did nothing.

Same. It seems like everyone is having this problem. And not everyone is technical enough to use command line to manually fix this known issue.

Now it seems we are having to do MS work for them when this should have been programed in the update to begin with. You never know what those commands will do to your computer. I do not feel comfortable doing it since MS cannot even put the fix in their update.

I don't feel comfortable either, I genuinely hope microsoft fixes this ASAP because I do not want to mess with my laptop lke that.

Same here! On a Dell Latitude E6530 the KB5034441 won't install. Normally, it helps to clean all the Temp-folders, deactivate the antivirusprogram (F-Secure Total), But nothing of this helps here.

On an OOLLD wreck - Lenovo ST-2, I got it installed, but it struggled with KB5934122, after deactivating Windows Defender... And YAAAAYYYY!!! I got it installed on that little, slow computer!

And why install Windows 10 on such an old computer? Only because I could - and I also got it activated!!

Windows Update has been running just fine for many years for me now, since I got Windows 10 - no problems! But now, it's not good...
