Thank you so much Microsoft as you have started the New Year off with bang with this update failure below on the first patch Tuesday of the year:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441).

Tried multiple times to install this brick but no luck on my OMEN desktop and my wife's Envy laptop. So now what Microsoft?

Don

Look, many people did the troubleshooter and it didn't work.

Microsoft needs to just release a emergency release update

    Elise and all MS developers,

    Update KB5034441 22H2 64bit Error 0x80070643

This is a monumental MS problem. Very wide spread. MS tries to make this our problem when in fact they messed up by distributing a faulty update to us. After running all trouble shooting steps to resolve the issue and checking the required service to be running Windows update won't swallow the poison pill. I did notice there seemed to be two 22H2 updates this morning not sure if they were updating the same areas in the OS. All updates installed successfully accept this one. I believe that, unfortunately, we should all sit back and chill while MS works this out. The ball is in their court and hopefully they are making this a top priority. I hate to think that this was a heinous attack on their part because nobody wants to make the move to Windows 11 and they are forcing the issue. My computer runs fine without this update. I hope others are in the same position.

I see you have the exact same issue that many here have reported. Did you eventually, or on the next retry, get this installation to work? I still have one that can't get past "Installing 0%" after many, many attempts.

Since the file is downloaded attempting again attempts to use the file already downloaded, which of course will indeed return the same error. That's why I went looking on the Microsoft Catalog site to download the .msi and install manually/locally instead of continuing to retry from the file previously downloaded. But, it's not there to obtain.
