I also have read that Windows Home Edition does not come with BitLocker. So that probably applies to many users that are not tech savvy. Updates should be tested to be automatically applied and not have to have complicated workarounds. Hopefully they will get there act together and fix this for the general public without jumping through hoops.

2024-01-12T12:08:19+00:00 Reorganising the partition size on my computer might fix the problem but it looks like a complicated process, running the risk of creating major problems on my machine if I don't do it correctly. I feel neither qualified or competent to follow these instructions without understanding what I am doing, in case something goes wrong. Microsoft needs to sort this out and then inform the end user when it is fixed, not expect them to go into their machine with a complex software patch - we are end users, not software programmers/designers - we expect products to work.

2024-01-12T16:55:40+00:00 I am getting the error on update KB5034441; "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help (0x80070643). Status: Download Error 0x80070643
The only answers I have found here are for the errors:
- Windows Recovery Environment servicing failed.
(CBS_E_INSUFFICIENT_DISK_SPACE) - 0x80070643 - ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE
WinRE needs to have a bigger (1gb) partition, but I am not getting the error it says you will receive if the partition needs to be expanded.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2024-01-12T17:28:40+00:00 That other error is hidden in system logs.
If you check your recovery partition size and it's less than 750 MB AND you're getting error 0x80070643 when you try to install this update, that IS the cause.
